6-1/2 years ago I took redundancy after 37 years with one organisation (I started with them the day I turned 17) and started with another 2 days later. It was a tough decision - my salary dropped to 1/3rd it's previous figure.

Best thing I ever did. Ok, not quite but my income is back up and I do less work with less stress and I'm closer to home.

Now I'm considering retiring and that is a tougher decision.
is it?? if i could afford it and still enjoy life as i do now.. i wouldnt be thinking too much about it although swmbo would have a monster list of jobs for me...

luckily the new place the salary is higher (not much and mostly taxed anyway)... im just looking for that thing that everyone does.. a job that i look forward to going to in the morning! problem is that until i start there... i never know

    thanks

that would be the first on the list of course brad she is well and has been through the same dilemma as me recently.. she decided to stay tho (but it cost them dearly )

new place is on ossie park designing braking systems for cough cough landcruisers and trucks etc .. not sure what is involved fully yet.. but will have to see if i can get a landy based system sorted not sure how it will go but time will tell...

i was talking to phil633 earlier.. any trips for lancelin way coming up? or do we fancy organising one? something without scratches please..

by the way she joined in preparation of getting a landy.. her username..

    dont do scratches

    hard to guess eh?

we were looking at a 76 series 3 last night... seemed a bargain but rusty as... gotta get her something soon..

Steve jobs are so easy to find in WA at the moment you will "raise them and up" them in your new job.
Davo, what do you do for a living???? If its anything earthmoving can get you a contact with a good Derby company a mate works for.Name your machine, they are always chasing top operators!!! My mate is always trying to get me up there!!!
They work all over the place inc NT and out on the Nullaboring!!!

Hey mate, I'm one of those who have quit lately
I just started a new job a couple of weeks ago and I'm having a ball!!!
Never thought I'd really enjoy getting back to basics in real estate (albeit in a management role) but I'm really loving it all over again.
Hope you find what you're looking for too.

    This is a GREAT country.
