    Talking Advice on poptops sought

Hi, yes, I am a complete newbie to everythihg. Have been enjoying reading your forums but have not been able to find this info. Does anyone know who sells poptops? I have a '94 Defender TDI ute with large, homemade (not by me) snail type camper box on the back. It's horrendously heavy and sticks up in the air about 2 foot proud of the cab causing all sorts of weight, handling (O.K., I know it's not a racing car, but....) and aerodynamics problems (as if my beautiful brick needed any more of these! ) not to mention rollover potential when on an angle. I have decided that I might be able to cut the box down to the roofline or just below (or above - not sure yet.) and replace with a popper so that I can rid myself of a few of these problems and retain head room. If anyone has any suggestions as to what to get or where to look I'd be most appreciative. Thanks and Keep up the good work. Cheers, justin.

Not much help, but you can't have mine!!
and no I've no idea who made it, no badge or anything to identify who did it...

you could pick the brains of the fella with the 130 station wagon (I forget the username)...who did a DIY poptop...

    found it!:

    Thanks Taz & EchiDna

Great site, He has the website of the guys who made the poptop & even better he has photos of the whole project which give great graphics of how the p/t works. Will also check out Caravan repairers - should have thought of that myself.
    Thx again. ciao amigos. js.
