HID

I have been using HID headlight globes and driving light globes for quite a few years now. I had problems with a couple of sets of chines made H4 sets. I bought a set of H4 headlight globes that have two bulbs on the one stem and no moving parts. These have been very reliable. They are 35 watt 6000k and have a very slightly blue tinge at start up then get whiter.
I have 42 watt 6000k inserts in my Super Oscars and these are noticably whiter. Both kits have been submerged many times and continue to work without fault. I would never go back to halogen given a choice.
I believe that HID and LED is the new technology that will eventually replace all the halogen lights in new cars.
If you must stick with halogen and have not done so, the best way to get better lighting is to make up a new wiring loom with relays or buy a kit such as the ones offered by Drivesafe.

I ordered 3 kits from the USA the other week, arrived yesterday...

Disco has been fitted.. Works brilliantly... Cant be happier... :D

The other 2 kits a single globe H4 hi/lo..
They come with 1 ballast and custom looms... They're for the Bikes :cool:

Went 6000k.. Slightly blue on start up, but pure white seconds later...
Look white from other drivers perspective too..

Pleasantly happy with how damn bright they are too...
And happy to lose the 'yellow' tinge from stock halogens :p

My HID'S are in.I went out to adjust them tonight low beam is good i can actually see the side of the road.High beam is'nt qiute as impressive but ok.I also have 130w IPF driving lights to fill in the gaps on high.Overall very impressed.Should be able to see where i am going on our upcoming night run through the otways.Cheers Brett

Exactly the same impression I got when I fitted mine... And the reason is that a halogen as two brighnesses between high and low beam (say 60/100W) where as the Bi-zenon HID's have the same output for both positions. When in low beam the light is spread out over a smaller area which is fantastic but when you flick to high beam the same amount of light is spread out over a large area and the contrast is noticeable.

It's not that the High beam is dim, it's just that it looks dim in comparison to the rediculously good low beam:D

My solution... add 4 more HID spot lights to the high beam! Oh baby!

That makes sense i will probably change the spotties at some stage but will do the wifes car first.Thanks Brett
