    Hi V8Landy,
I haven't fitted HIDs & so my comments are based on what I've heard from others.
    1. There is some question about the longevity of the Chinese uniits (but the price is good & so may worth the risk),
    2. It would seem that they are 6000K lamps, which a number of people believe are too blue (& may bring you to the attention of the constabulary) (apparently about 5400K is better),
    3. I think that it is illegal to fit HID without self-levelling headlights (see 2. above).

They look the goods , Very similar to the two sets i fitted recently and yes go the 4300k !

You will love them just make sure you re adjust your head lights down after fitting or you will constantly get flashed by some drivers

That's when you flash em back with your HID high-beams AND Lightforce 240's (Just to show em you were on low-beam)

    Hi,

Have 35W 5000k sliding hi/lo Chinese HID in a 74/81 RRC. 5000k has a very slight bluish tinge. Higher k value are going to be really blue.

50/55W is going to be way too bright for the road and possibly way illegal.

AFAIK you need self-leveling (like the old Boge unit) and headlight washers to be legal.

Had mine for nearly a year now with no probs. Have them aimed down a little and have never been flashed in that time.

Low beam is the best bit.........both sides of the road get really lit up. Much safer driving around in the sticks at night.

Quality of the kit was high. Cost about $180. Came with a loom that included a relay and in-line fuses. You'll never go back to halogen.

    cheers, DL

I have a hi/lo H4 HID setup in my Rangie, They light the put out is awesome. They are 6000k. Initally they had a noticable blue tint when warming up, but as they have got a few hours on they i think they must have burned in and the blue is not noticable now.

I also just fitted a set of H1 to my Spot/Spread Rallye 4000's They produce an insane amount of light. They set was a cheap ebay set ($71 landed from china) I wanted to try them out before committing to a 3 or 4 hundred $ set. They are also 6000k but are much much bluer than the hi/lo h4's. This can be a drama as the amount of light a large dayglo highway sign can throw back at you can be dazzling.

They best parts it the reduction in electrical load on the car i've gone from aprox 38 amps (2x 130 watt high beams and two 100w h1 in the rallyes) to a shade under 13amps with all four lights on. The HID's spike to around 13amps when they first fire up. Once the lights are warmed up the spike is reduced to less than ten amps

    cheers
    Luke
