    Tour De France

Have watched the tour de france the last couple of night and it has been some good watching . I has got me how they can sit at 50+ kph for hours at a time . Most of the guys have tree trunks as legs .... a couple loosing some bark last night ( OUCH ) . The aussies are doing well with one in 5th over all and one finishing 8th in the sprint last night ...... would take a hell of a lot of mental strength do to what they do for 3 weeks solid .

    great

Yep, been watching it myself and loving it. I'm an avid biker myself, have done a few K's with Simon GERRANS (top bloke) and am looking forward to seeing how well Cadel EVANS goes this year. I reckon if things run smooth for him he has a very good chance of winning the whole bloody thing.

I was talking to a few of my work mates today and we all agreed that if EVANS was to win it then that would be up there with the America's Cup victory. I love watching 'Le Tour', it is a passion of mine and if you are lucky enough to know the tactics that play out within the race then that just adds to the enjoyment.

Anyway, got to get dinner ready for the family so i can sit down and watch the SBS highlighs package at 6pm .......

Yep, love to watch it myself - brilliant race, superb athletes and great countryside.
I agree, will be up there with an America's Cup victory for sure - both are great sporting features
The Aussie riders have done a few "le tour"races between them, let's hope the experience pays off and as mentioned Cadel stands a good chance of ending with a yellow jersey!

    "le tour".

I've got to agree, great viewing with great athletes and a pity that drugs keep being involved although I'd like to think not so much in cycling as some other sports.
Let's hope that if Cadel Evans does well (and the other Aussies) that it leads to a truly Aussie team being formed and them all riding under the Aussie flag instead of some foreigners.
    Compulsive viewing in my house.

ha ha ha, I did find a funny comment in the paper today, a person said that he had found a cure for his insomnia. He put 'Le Tour' on and he reckons he was asleep in about 3 minutes.

I'm the opposite, I love it and have pretty much scheduled my month around it, I put the alarm on, I go to bed, get up and watch the race and then back to sleep. Wife thinks i'm weird .... but that's nothing new

Give it a go man, at the very least if ya don't like it it will help you get to sleep ....

Jeez, I might try that. I have had trouble sleeping lately.

I have never watched the race and I doubt I ever will.

Cyclists, don't take that to heart. I don't watch any sport and I doubt I ever will. It's all so boring - based on what I've seen on the evening news. I've never understood why people get so passionate about watching sport.

Watched stage 6 last night where Evans finished 3rd . Funniest part of the days footage was this poor bugger was busting for a pee so he stopped and started just as a camera man stopped in front of him with the camera rolling . He wasn't to happy about it by the look on his face .
