Convert it ot a Range Cruiser. Put the body on a RR chassis.

They were actually made back in the '80s.

Nice one Tim, I grew up in the back seat of one of them...still got bumps on my head to prove it!!
I always like the original wagons from the 60's - had the Fj40 front with the corrigated/slab sides (FJ20??) nearly bought one about 10 years back but chickened out.
    Something like this http://www.birfield.com/~morgan/imag...ure-1-3-md.jpg
Don't see too many . For that matter not too many Fj40's an 55's that haven't rusted away.

    What's you plan....big v8, chop top, big wheels...or a more original format.
    (I like 'em standard)

Better not go on - someone might see us not talking rovers

    Keeping it original

I shall keep it original, but take off the roof, doors and have role cage made up for it to use during Tasmanian summers, allways wanted one with no roof to cruise around in, Range Rover is my Expedition vehicle and has no expense spared on it for all my offroad needs.
    cheers

    Good for you Tim!
I love 'em, nearly bought one as my first fourby back in the early 90's - but ended up with a BJ70 instead.

Had one of those beast years ago with a 250 falcon motor conversion, one of the better conversions I have seen, good power to weight ratio. When fitted I had to extend the rear spring hangers to get another couple of inches to level her back up

My cousin is looking to buy one. Hard to find an unmolested example, but he did ask what I thought of my Disco[s]. It crossed my mind to attempt to convert him, but they are just such damn appealing Toyotas.

Did you get the deluxe 6cyl diesel slug, the sluggier 4cyl diesel or a petrol?

I had one as a first car and kept it for about seven years (I also had a tray back one). I loved it but that was only because I hadn't discovered Land Rovers. The best thing I ever did was get rid of it and buy a 110. Six Land Rovers since and I will never have another Toyota. You can never love a Toyota the way you love your Land Rover.
