    Help Troy Critchley

For those of you who don't know:
Part 1: YouTube - Selmer drag crash 60 Minute special
Part 2: YouTube - Selmer drag crash 60 Minute special PART 2

Troy Critchley's funny car tragically veered into a crowd of spectators while he was performing a burnout demonstration for charity in the States. He is now facing several serious charges under Tennessee law.

I'm not normally one for signing petitions (I don't even know if its allowed on this forum...) but come on:
    Petition
The Bray's are organising it, that's gotta say something. Maybe this one will actually work?

    I've shown my support...

Keeps coming up with "page cannot be found"

Sad really, i guess they are looking for someone to blame, as far i can see it was just a tragic accident and really if your gunna sit that close to the track, you can only blame yourself if something goes wrong.

Why the heck were there no barriers?

The authorities have a lot to answer for.

    X 2.

While what happened was very unfortunate and all those affected deserve our sympathy and support - there is nothing to be gained by holding a witch hunt and laying all of the blame onto a scapegoat, when the actions of a great number of people contributed to this unfortunate accident.
    Cheers .........

Surely the buck should stop at it's highest level (the event organiser?) not the driver. If this was Eastern Creek or Bathurst, can you imagine trying to blame it on Mark Skaife or Lowndesy if they went into the crowd?! You'd be blaming the event organiser for not securing the fans!!?

In saying this, it's worth mentioning that as a professional driver, he should have seen the obvious potential danger and made a call not to drive. Doesn't make him responsible for everyones safety.

My bet is that the court will see the same as above, open the case to charge those who were responsible for safety and give the driver a hefty fine for not making the call himself. Best of luck Troy...

can someone explain to me the benefit of a petition when

A Its a criminal prosecution for manslaughter not apopularity vote
B Its in a Foreign Country
C He is responsible as the driver of the vehicle that caused the deaths
D If he is found not guilty criminally he is going to get his **** sued in civil suits anyway.
E Whether he was invovled in organising the race event or not, he should have as a experienced driver and racer known that crowd barriers and safety equipment and crowd control were absent or sadly lacking and shouldnt have started his car unitl they were fixed.

Do l feel sorry for him - guess A to E says NO
