They are not cheap. We priced one for our son's funeral and they were a LOT more expensive than a traditional wooden coffin. We also priced cardboard but they were also more exxy - even so, they didn't make any big enough for a 6'4 tall bloke.

A mate of mine bought a very fancy coffin at an auction. When he took it home his Mrs. absolutely freaked out. He commented that these women are bloody queer cattle, it is a lovely coffin and very comfortable. He apparently had an afternoon nap in it.

An old school mate started his working life as a coffin maker. He would stir up blokes in the pub, when, if he heard they had been ill, he would whip out his tape measure and offer a quote on a nice coffin, just in case.

I want to be disposed of the cheapest way possible. I'd rather the money be spent on the living.

I intend to be harvested for as much useful stuff to go to help someone else (ie: organs) and after that I don't care wether I am torched, buried, scuttled or eaten by wild animals. When it comes to my Landy(s) though I expect them to be kept in the family and restored or repaired whenever required for the rest of time!

Please don't think me disrespectful to those who have other wishes - everyone has their own style. Mine is "Stingy"

Those coffins are pretty cool though. I can certainly see the attraction for those who are so inclined to buy one.
