"I accept the D2 front cardon joint may fail at any time"

    there, I accept that.

One would think a FAR more life threatening problem.

any D2 owners NOT driving their cars because of it????

    didnt think so.

I'm sure Jamo understands the issue,,

and if he doesnt SEEM concerned,, why is that anyone elses problem???

Im not having a go seriously, only in jest Jamo - isolating that quote just sounded funny to me (not had many laughs today mate!).

In fact a few years ago a series 2a Disco caught on fire (under bonnet) on a forestry trail when being tested by 4X4 Australia - they were saying how it left the NM Pajero well and truly stranded miles before and just kept going...before the fire that is.

    Cheers

Pedro - does the front cardon failure cause life threatening event. I havent come across it but wouldnt the shaft detach from the box with the other end connected and hanging up on the cross - member. So unless you were reversing at 60 mile an hour at the time it wouldnt dig in and catapult the vehicle into the sky. I dont know and would like to know now you have raised it. Cheers mate

    Speaking from experience...
No it doesn't and the noise it makes when it suddenly explodes at 125kph is not very pleasant to say the least. The ancillary damage to the underside of the Disco in the general vicinity is also ugly. It felt like a partial deflation of the a rear tyre and sounded like I'd hit a mine.

Would have saved a BUNDLE if she'd let it burn the first time !
