    Auto Mechanic Course - Brisbane

    Good evening,

Can anyone recommend, or point me in the right direction of a mechanics course, in order to aid the renovation of our SIIA? I know there are full time courses and distance education programs which ultimately lead to one becoming a qualified mechanic, but I am looking for something a little more fundamental.

While I do have a fairly good understanding of how things work mechanically in a car, I really need to learn about each individual component operates and of course how to fix and maintain them!

I live southside Brisbane, so any local recommendations are welcome.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Chris

I would be contacting the TAFE college near you as they often run ADULT EDUCATION classes in basic skills to do with motor vehicles

Or you could offer to come around to help out and watch on with other guys when they do work on their vehicles...

I have in the works ATM a strip down of a SIII, a conversion of a SIII from petrol to diesel, (which is then going onto WVO) and I'll be bench tuning the petrol prior to selling it off. Ive got a gearbox rebuild to attend to to get one of my sereis Boxes up to standard.Brakes to install in a SIIA,

Ask nice and I'd be happy to have you help on the spanners...

even though you'll feel like your not doing much most of the time you have no idea how much easier life for a greaser is when theres someone there to do thing s like hold a nut on the other side of a fire wall while he does the bolt up OR operate controls while electrics get sorted (damn forgot I had to do that too) or adjustments get made... and while your there you're welcom to pick my brains on any subject you like.

Get in on the deep end....

(feel free to PM me if any of this interests you)

Search for the Haynes manual that specifically deals with re-building a Series Landy.
    Occasionally on Ebay.
Pit Stop bookstore in Perth should have it,see their website, they post out.
Haynes manuals are easy to follow for the NEW DIYer

I concur. The offer from Blknight is too good to pass up.

He's a mechanicing guru, and while his spelling is sus, his communication skills are also top-notch.

Just be careful about the flies, as you may find yourself standing there with your mouth open.

    Best Wishes,
