As a pom living in Australia, I think most Australians do not realise just how good it is here. But that's another topic
If you can afford to buy an expensive car, you can afford to feed it.

As to the price of fuel, when will people realise that the solution is in the ballot box.

Poms historically bought little $hitpot cars because of the tax regime based on RAC horsepower, plus parking and garaging problems in congested streets, and small houses on miniscule lots in densely populated urban areas. Let alone the crappy wages that working class and middle class poms were paid. They could not afford a decent car!

so I guess this isnt the thread to point out that I've just out driven a tdv8 toyota from about goodna to the switch.... It was bellowing more smoke than big red when Im giving her the boots...

    I was Driving fozzy...

I guess the only reason why I can get past them in big red is cause they are all in reverse and that I can do all of that in big red while getting better fuel economy.......

as for the isuzu being more reliable than the td5, guess what happens if the mech advance unit on the FIP drops its guts,,, or what happens if the lift pump gives up... actually lets pretend that that happens so that it blows all the diesel past the internal seal into the sump oil and you dont spot it till one morning when you start it to warm it up it runs away and does an inversion on you.....

if the fuel pump dies in a td5 it just stops and the td5 doesn have a mechanical advance coupling to fail...

was there a banjo player in the backseat to provide light entertainment, due to there being no radio?

All new truths begin as heresies and then as superstitions. We fear the unknown so we reduce it to the terms most familiar to us. Whether that's a folk tale, or a disease or a conspiracy that the Td5 isn't reliable.

Like points were more reliable than electronic ignition, and carbies giving less grief than EFI.
