I assume 20' is the smallest container but I don't have anything else to come across (that I can think of).
I'm happy with $842, it would cost me more than that in fuel just to get to Perth.

Anyway, the auction is over & I'm the lucky winner .
If anyone wants to send something across from Perth, let me know soon. All going well, it will be Northline at Hazelmere doing the job. It will be a few days (maybe a week or more) before it leaves.

Congrats on the moggie, $842 is bloody cheap, make sure the contents of the trailer are insured, you don't know who steers these trains.

    moving car

Hi, I posted when I first joined AuLRo but I cannot remember how I did it. Can work out how to put on wanted adds but not post a NEW topic. I EVEN KNOW HOW oN E-BAY WITH 3 DAYS TO GO IS A ROLLING CHASIS LIKE I WANTED, BUT EARLIER, it being a 1986. I WAS WANTING TO POST enquiries about getting it up from Hornsby--cost, and other transport options, if we bought it, but do not know how to do this. As I posted well before now I knew how but forgot, or posting method changed. So perhaps some one would tell me what I forgot--getting too old turn 60 this November, but normally have a good memory.

The car should have been in Sydney by now. It left Perth last Wednesday apparently but delivery to Sydney has been held up due to a derailment on the Nullabor somewhere.
It seems the very train my car was on was the derailment .

I've done a Google search but I can't access any of the ABC news or Railpage sites from work so I won't be able to know more until tonight .

I tried googling and abc site but only got pages that are several months old so if you want it done you'll have to do it yourself!

From mr smh on the 3rd of the 9th

A freight train derailment in South Australia's far west has damaged more than two kilometres of track, halting passenger services between Adelaide and Perth.

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) said the damage to the line near Mount Christie following the incident on Monday night was worse than first thought.

More than 2.2 kilometres of track in one area was damaged, with some sections needing to be replaced.

A further 300 metres of track was also damaged in another location.

The ARTC said a major operation was also underway to remove the damaged rail wagons from the site, with three cranes brought in.

"ARTC-led teams will work as swiftly as possible to remove the derailed wagons and repair the track," the organisation said in a statement on Wednesday.

The incident forced the cancellation of the scheduled Indian Pacific service from Perth to Adelaide on Wednesday.

The train's operators, Great Southern Rail, said a service due to leave Adelaide for Perth on Thursday would be delayed until Friday.

"Guests booked to travel on the services and friends that are meeting travellers off these services are advised to phone 13 21 47 for updated information on service arrival and departure times," the company said.

The ARTC said it expected the damaged sections of track to be reopened on Saturday.

In Monday night's incident a goods train from Melbourne bound for Perth derailed between Tarcoola and Cook.

It was entering a passing loop to cross with another train travelling in the opposite direction when 12 wagons jumped the track, falling onto their sides and blocking the line.

The ARTC said the oncoming train was halted and there were no injuries.

A big thank you to Dobbo who has found out that it was a Perth bound train that derailed so my car should be safe.
The Perth bound train was entering a loop to let the Eastbound train pass but derailed & damaged 300m of track.

Aahhh, I feel better now .
