Maybe they should have experienced 707s, VC10s (hushpower ?) DC9s F28s etc. now they were noisy.

Have slept many nights in the same place (not the same bed)

Don't forget the 727's and the noisiest of all the BAC 111

I wouldn't worry ariddell, it's a great area. This is a tragic accident that could happen anywhere - an isolated event. Having lived in the area for years I don't even notice the noise now - bit like living near a train line!.

As sad as this accident was, it really is not as bad as the many car accidents we see daily, and seem to be conditioned to . I heard the head of CASA say that flying at Moorabbin is still safer than driving on Nepean Hwy - I can personally vouch for that

Anyway, welcome neighbour - If you see a Red D90 around it's probably me - don't forget to wave

Heard on the radio that the pilot should be commended 4 his actions in avoiding the primary school nearby. On his 1st solo flight having a mid air collision & being sent into a spiral, I kinda doubt he really knew there was a primary school in the vicinity. Poor bugger.
I live within a k of this airport & its never been an inconvienience & I certainly would`nt consider my or my families safety a factor, I feel it was just a sad unfortunate accident!
    Cheers Dean.
