Cool Just my 2 cents worth

    Just my 2 cents worth:-)
This is a great forum and the administrators have done a marvelous job creating and moderating it, also all the people are fabulous, we all have something to say, share or vent, how about a debating area for those who wish to can go to have discussions and place their views on certain subjects out there for debate.

My old man has allways said it takes a bigger Man to walk away from a fight, sorry Dad but I dissagree, I was bullied at school for 8 yrs. Had enough and faced of with the best the school had to offer in grade 10, shut him and all his mates up once and for all. I finally had closure.

My point is we all need to feel we belong & as well as fit in and enjoy activities that we are a part of, if someone is doing something you feel is wrong the Mods have given us all the tools we require to deal with it at the press of a button, How simple is that.

Like telly if u do not like what u see, PRESS the OFF button.
So to speek, report or add to ignore list.
    cheers.

PS Happy Fathers Day 4 Sunday Guys.

    Go Tim! Well said.

    I have one problem though;

as much as I think 40 series cruisers are a capable vehicle, they should NEVER be represented in a photgraph UPSTAGING a Rangie!! What were you thinking man!!!
Reshoot that scene immediately, this time with the superior vehicle in the foreground

Have a good Sunday Tim, It would be good if all of you could join us on the Island with Carlos etc??

Stevo, I'm not siding with anyone (and specifically not Dobbo because we work for the same employer. I think I've only met him twice) but I get the impression from a number of your posts over the past year or so that you are have a fiery, if not belligerant, temperment.

I may be wrong. I've never met you (I don't think - unless it was on a night run with the GC a couple of yers ago) so I am forming my opinion entirely from your posts.

Well I have copped both sides of the coin.

I have been on the recieving end of an agressive member or 7 or 8 as well as being the agressor and I have to say............I didnt enjoy either all that much.

I was talking face to face with another member of this forum just the other day about how quiet it is now a certain group has dropped off a bit and how well behaved everyone is being.

Now in saying that (and someone else saying that) what is to be said about the coments that 3 of the mods in this very thread have had to say about me and how much trouble I cause.

The only thing Im not doing anymore is having to retaliate to things that others say.

Now I can hear it now, you all just said to your selves that I should pay no attention and hit the ignore button.......well when I did that they started on family members etc of which I heard about from other members due to me having them on my ignore list.

I do think the consistency thing is an issue that maybe should be looked at but even in saying that, this place can become very boring if everyone agreed on everything.

If no body says that they dont like something then there will be no discussion about anything where information will come out.

The main problem that this forum has is that some of the members will never change their mind about anything as if they know it all and thats just how it will be and with that they expect others to be the same and dont allow people to be swayed to change thier minds or opinions.

This is what normlly pieves me off and this is also what I am normally guilty of but if i insist on something I will quite happilly be prooven wrong and change my mind, just to have one of my posts to the former come back and bite me in the ass.

Now Im not naming anyone but it doesnt help when some of the mods come off as the agressors.

Yes it has happened to me and Im sure that wont make me very popular but it is something that does happen and it shouldnt.

In this case, the sentance has been given and is being served so then thats it.

I do have to ask Inc, If you have been banned from accumulated points do the points get returned to zero?

If so, next time I go away, I will take a weeks ban and come back a free man

Mcrover, other Mods will confirm what I have said about you and your opponents - that I don't see what the fuss is about. I look at the threads and I think what the heck are they getting riled about.

It seems some of you take comments personally whereas I can't see them that way.

As a result, I stay out of the arena.

I'd be happy to have a drink with any of you.

Okay, hopefully what I put together here will answer a few of the questions/ assumptions etc. You will have to forgive me, I had Fathers day with the old man today, so have had a few under my belt . Ok, Dobbo, for all I know you could be a top bloke in "real" life and in fact my raising of certain issues wasn't so much to get rid of you, it was moreso that I saw an unfairness that I felt that you went out of your way to antagonise Mick....he snapped and no result for you....it takes 2 to tango. Only you know whether that is completely true or false. There have also been other occasions where similiar has occured i.e the grass slope thread where a simple apology to Joel would have made all well again.

In terms of myself, and as to whether I am pot or kettle, no doubts I could be seen in a similiar vein as perhaps other "louder" forum members. I love a good debate on a topic, but would like to think that I challenge the opinion or ideal without taking a shot at the individual. Just as my opinion or perspective has been challenged on occasions....recent ones from memory being with JSNSW and VNX.

Whilst I may not agree with their opinion and vis a vis, I feel that I still respect their opinion nonetheless. There are some hot topics that come up on occasion here and no doubt I have upset some individuals with my stance, opinion or perhaps even the way I have expressed it, but if I have an issue ( and with respect to those that do) Im not going to run to a mod, just as I wouldn't in real life. I would challenge the person on their attitude, opinion or behaviour. Mine has been on occasion and at times it has made me think. Or I have read a differing opinion and learnt something. That said rightly or wrongly I don't suffer fools and if someone makes an inane comment or tries to take the heart out of a good discussion, then more fool them.

That is one of the beauties of this place. It is more than just nuts and bolts, it is interaction from people from all walks of life, education and work experience. It is why so many of us come here for our daily dose.

As to being identical.........hmmm, tubby with kids...yes , passion for LRs.....yes.......speak our mind sometimes without thinking about the consequences.........yes .....have the guts to express openly our thoughts......yes. The difference in my book and in my opinion is that I don't put down people.....maybe in your minds eye...neither do you......but that is how it reads and why it can ruffle peoples feathers. My old man told me when I was younger, if you hear something from enough people, it is time to have a good look in the mirror. Hence as you mentioned you are on thin ice and that has to be at ones own doing.

Bottom line would me more than happy to have a brew and discuss but make it Stella or Steinlagers .

And Ron.....fiery.......yeah for sure at times............cant we all be that dependant on the occasion. Belligerant.......no, strong personality......yes. I dont think anyone can make a full assessment of anybody on a forum without at least meeting them first. However your actions and the way you come across can be judged. And if you upset someone and they don't tell you, well how the hell does one know. A mate of mine.....wont name names.....was responding to threads in a manner that had people thinking otherwise.........I rang him up, had a chat to him and he was surprised. He didn't think he was being aggresive at all.

Well time for another coldy as now have to cook dinner for SWMBO'ds old man, heres hoping I get tomorrow off.

Regards Stevo from a Stevocentric world

Zackly! Re my earlier comment to mcrover, I'd be happy to sit down and have a drink with him and his opponents. Well, I have sat down and had a drink with Hiline.

Ditto with having a drink with you.

I know I've been peed off with some posters at times (on the RRNET forum) and I've let them know. One of the Mods there thought I had a fiery temper!

We form opinions based on what we see written by a poster. That opinion may change after we meet them. If we never meet them, then we may never change our opinion.

Don't worry, I've looked at some of Dobbo's posts and thought "Dobbo, you are pushing it!"
