Hand in the plates to QT and cancel the reg. The new owner then obtains a permit to drive unregistered vehicle and goes home with the vehicle. Everything else is up to the new buyer in his home state. You need to produce documentary proof of a Qld. address to transfer or register a vehicle in Qld. QT needs an address to send the camera fines to!!!!

Did it have QLD plates on it?
You can't legally register a QLD vehicle without it or you having a QLD address.
It has QLD plates, doesn't really matter if its unreg'd even as soon as it gets here its off to get WA reg'd.But having factory warranty plus a further 5yrs extended warranty I'm sure they wil keep it legit.

This is to keep unsafe cars off the road.

Note they don't need an inspection if you keep the car registered in your name for 50 years or longer!

I emailed Qld Transport to ask how I get an inspection certificate if the car is interstate when I want to sell it. No reply.

Their site doesn't cover selling it interstate.

    Safety certificates

I guess this is why one sees currently registered Qld vehicles being sold unregistered. I never did understand that until I saw the above page.
yep, you advertise it as As Is and Without rego and you dont have to get the cert.
