Still advise you perhaps consider getting a Disco here, have it checked, do the trip and sell it again.

I know several people who done that.
there is currently a great looking tdi for sale on this web-site.

It belongs to a member that from what little I know is pretty well respected.

Who knows, you may even make a buck when you sell it.


Go to a web site called triumph rover spares.
They are in SA and have huge range, they will get sliders in from time to time, just get a 2nd hand set. Thats how they will look after the first outing anyway.

Clearance can be difficult here interms of height over stuff, make sure you have communication equipment, maybe even a sat phone. They can be hired pretty cheaply or perhaps put feelers out for some other guys heading up there.
