Use a body primer then Galmet colorbond paint or bumper black which is slightly flexible.
Is this the bumper black stuff??

I use K&H paints, their satin black looks factory finish.

PVC has to be properly primed before painting, before using the pink keying paint give all surfaces to be painted a rub with 320-400 grit sandpaper so that there are no glossy surfaces left, paint won't stick to glossy bits of plastic.

    Good Luck

I'm looking at getting 3in SS and a Donaldson TopSpin Pre-Cleaner for our Rangie

if you use some esp (easy surface prep) and then some etch primer you should'nt have a problem just make sure you get all the loose/flaky paint off first

Not all paints and cleaning solvents are for all surfaces.

You have to etch the surface before painting, if you were painting a metal body panel the first thing you do is sand the area to be painted with wet and dry so that all the gloss surface is gone and clean with the correct cleaning solvent, for example, acetone for cleaning fibreglass, wax and grease or mid range thinners for painting with acrylic, using the wrong cleaning solvent can leave a film on the surface that stops the paint sticking.

I haven't painted PVC for years, last time I did it was for a pole tube on a camper, I sanded the gloss off, cleaned the entire surface with the correct cleaning agent, etch primed with the pink stuff bought from the plumbing supply store then painted with a semi flex paint, some of the paint chipped off from stones thrown up from the vehicle other than that it was pretty solid.

Ask at a Trade paint suppliers and plumbing Suppliers what you need to do, if you ring up you don't feel obliged to buy from them.
