Adam how is all of that mounted to the car? Are they turbo pipe joiners between the pipes?

True, particularly when a cyclonic pre-cleaner is fitted. But I suspect most people have water crossings in mind when they fit a snorkel.

The main reason i want to fit a snorkel is to keep the crap out of the new air filter, on our other disco we have to blow it out after every trip away:mad:

To those who use a snorkel top like this one and want to keep their air filter cleaner.

I find it helps if you unscrew the front grill and place some fly screen over the front and then put the grill back on, then trim the fly screen neatly around the edge.

I have cut out all the bugs that usually end up in the air filter.

Ok so whats the best way to cut the hole in the guard??

Depends on what tools you have and the shape of the hole really.

If its circular a holesaw would be one way to do it, but I would at least tape the face of the wing to minimise the risk of it damaging the paint.

If you dont have the relevant size hole saw you could again tape the wing, drawing the hole you want to cut and then chain drill round the outside, filing the resultant hole to get the neatest result.
