That looks alright! When it's painted it'll be as good as a bought one.
Just a thought, but one of the reasons I think a PVC snorkel looks unpretty is the multiple changes in diameter at the bends, maybe if you built the bends up with bog to be an single diameter they would look better?

If you wanted a better finish you could use the high pressure PVC pipe and fittings. They tend to be nicely rounded on the bends, and would also be a lot more bash resistant

Thanks Mick i'm planing on ruffing it up than giving it a coat or two of primer before the final coats of black.

That snorkel head you bought, is that the 3.5" model? I understand that the standard sizes are 3" and 3.5", but I suspect that the ' 3.5" ' model actually has an internal diameter of 3.25" (or about 80mm).

Can you confirm if you used a ' 3.5" ' head and that it fits 80mm pipe?

Just trying to source parts for my own.

    Cheers
    Hi there
I did use the 80mm stuff, and the head is the 3"model, it didn't fit over the 80mm pipe though so i had to glue in some smaller diameter pipe (can't remember what size)
    Here are some pics...

I glued some of the 80mm pipe into the 45degree bend, then glued some smaller diameter stuff inside the 80mm pipe (if that makes sence)
Feel free to ask more questions

Got it sprayed yesterday, primed then overcoated with some cheap black paint which doesn't seem to be sticking so i think i'll buy some good stuff tomorrow.

It looks a lot better now that it's black than when it was a pale grey PVC colour.
