Help needed from 2004 V8 Disco owners

Hi all, I think I have got my wife to get rid of our Pajero .

So I am looking for a 2004/2003 V8 Disco and would appreciate hearing the truth regarding fuel consumption figures.

What do you get from a tank of fuel town/hiway ?

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Hey Noz,

Great to see you back on here, hopefully you're coming back to the fold.
Don't worry about consumption, just get it

I know - super useful post that

I get at least 450k's from a 2002 V8 around town with more to go, no idea on the highway as it really never goes there..

    just buy it!!!!
it's got to be better than just worrying about the fuel consumption, like you can pass cars, leaving the lights it goes as fast as a commodore [fords are faster! - no, i am not biased go ford]
it's comfortable, and it can safely exceed all australian speed limits, book figure is 107 mph for a '95 model, which means it is a safe vehicle to drive at normal highway speeds.
and gidday, long time no see, we need to go for a beer and a camping trip some time.

I have not forgotten you all, in fact I cant wait to get rid of this bloody Pajero and get a another Disco.

But I do want to get the info on the fuel economy as the wife is not happy with the Pajero returning 350km's around town to a tank.

I assured her a V8 2004 disco would be far better than that, but I would like to know for fact from the guys on this forum, I know I will get a real answer here not a sales pitch from the guy selling it.

    Cheers

Hmmm.... Well, it's also going to depend on the size of the tank & from those figures I suspect that the Pajero has a smaller tank.

Also, you didn't mention if you want figures for Auto or Manual as there is a difference, especially around town!

Me... Well, I get approx 400-450Km out of a tank on my 2002 DiscoII V8 Auto.

1/ Pajero has a 80 lt tank from memory

2/ I would go for an auto I reckon, I like my manuals but wifey will be driving this every day.

3/ Also I beleive the 2004 V8 is different to the other V8 models, not sure how but I have been told this.

    Hmmm...

IIRC, the 2002 - 2004 DiscoII are the same. However, 2004 is when the Disco3 was launched. Now that one does have a very different V8 petrol.
