    Hi guys;

    I have a crack on the windscreen and was wondering if anyone knows if it's repairable ?

    That looks like it will be repairable with the resin - I've had a couple like that done - about $50 -$80.
    Call Windscreens O'Brien or Novus or one of those places that do the repairs they'll soon tell you if it's repairable or replacement needed.
    With Novus i've had better success by taking it into their depot - the quality of work from the mobile vans seems to vary depending on the operator.
    One young guy that came out did a shocking job - I took it to the depot, they re did it for free and you can hardly see it now.

    Oh and don't leave it too long - that crack could get bigger very soon.

    I've heard Super Cheap sell the do-it-yourself repair kits now but I don't know anyone that's successfully used one.

    You should drill a hole top and bottom so it doesn't crack further.

    Thanks waynep;

    I just called o'briens glass and they asked me how big is the crack on the windscreen ???I told the young fella that I have a set of digital calipers and I can measure it , but he agreed a photograph was sufficient enough so I sent him a photograph of it for a quote , I've also been told not to wait too long as crack will get bigger etc.

    hence this post.

    cheers mate

    cracks should be seen to straight away........

    not only is there the risk of them getting bigger......
    but you also get more and more crap in the crack the longer you leave it.....
    then if it is repaired......it will always be visible from all the dirt in it......

    and....if its laminated glass.....the moisture will get it and create a foggy patch.....
    which wont pass rego.......so the screen will need to be replaced......

    if you take it to get repaired, keep the windscreen dry for 3-4 days beforehand

    Hi everyone;
    okay , I finally had a repairer show up on tuesday afternoon from windscreen O'brian , apparently she has a much better success rate than the blokes with the cracked windscreen repaireneedless to say this repaire was her 6th repaire on that day.

    I just thought I'd post this up for those of you who haven't seen a windscreen being repaired like myself.
