    Lost another 4X4

This hill country has claimed another 4X4 here Due to careless workers. I guess I cant be to hard on them as they are not injured or dead as a result
This time it was a 78 model S111. It ran away when the driver did not apply the handbrake at a gate way Said he done it this way for years..... Turn the wheels in 4X4 and then they bind enough to hold When I found it it was in high range 2WD The S111 is worth bugger all but I now have to replace it.
I'm thinking a 4BD1 110 or Stage 1. Good ones are hard to find

You should know I allways come good with pics. I just can't carry a camera all the time. It will be used as spares for my other S111s.
Have recovered It tonight. Had to pull drive flanges and loosen U bolts to pull RHS tyre off floor pan to get it to roll. The gear box is pushed back and park brake linkage is now in pain. Has bent RHS chassis also
Edit... This was the one before http://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-ch...19-bugger.html.

It wen't through a fence and took out a strainer post

Had it missed the fence would have gone over an edge and become a large bowling ball

Not dead... Just uneconomical to repair. Would need Chassis cut and weilded as has crushed in around 25mm, Front spring, New engine mounts hoses etc, The front shaft gave the transfer a hard clout. It needed new front brakes + a few other jobs doing so not realy worth it. It was only a roughy. If was in better condition I would repair it for sure. 78 Model RIP

Still has a heap of usefull parts incl bulkhead that has no rust. I'm going to part it out early next year when things hopefully settle down a bit around here. The steering box is off to Tasmania Wish I could go with it.
