    Been busy at work

    Been busy building roads.
Just completed gravel sheeting 2km of road I have to seal with bitumen after Xmas holidays. Thanks to all this wet weather I was able to lay all the gravel without a water truck so we did the job in half the time
Monday I really come under the pump.Back to the new road Ive been building, waterbinding ready for bitumen that comes on the 12th.Boss wants to seal 5km before we go on holidays, confident enough to tell him to book the full 7.5km to seal
    Lots of overtime coming up

Got to pay for those project vehicles somehow, or is to be directed into the Christmas pressy fund?

Know how you feel mate. We have been doing the same at work, trying to get some tar down before the christmas stand down. One of the foreman ripped up other lot ready to go then a couple of inches of rain buggered that. Had 6000 litres to go down the other day starting pouring down in the middle of spreading it, great fun. not happy

    Cheers

    Hi Kieren
The wet over here has helped no end, been able to get the gravel down and hard enough to be safe.Having a spare truck to cart gravel was perfect. It isnt as smooth as I like,as there was only enough moisture to drop it,grade it out and compact.Tried re-cutting but was to dry to get any compaction and was leaving the surface too loose.
Not tidy, but we are another week ahead on that job after the Xmas hols.
Wouldnt mind another week of overcast drizzley weather this week,it will really help get this job ready for the blackstuff. We have got the biggest works program in a long time and Im new at this grader stuff, but taking it in my stride
