    Rainfall

In adding up the totals for last month, I note that with 130mm over twelve days for a total 693.5mm for the year to date, we now have the wettest month, the most days of rain, and the wettest year to the end of November, since 2000.

Which was the last year before the drought started.

Brisbane has had the second wettest November on record. 1981 was the wettest. Hard to believe that four months ago we were, to quote the legendary Hanrahan "crying out for rain". Now it is "we'll all be rooned if this here rain don't stop". Storms forecast for four nights from Wednesday.

    Droughts and Flooding Rains

As Doreathea Mackella wrote, we live in a land "Of droughts and flooding rains"

Tamworth/Gunnedah area certainly copped it over the last few days.
I just hope all the farmers got their harvesting completed before the deluge.

The Peel River at Tamworth peaked at almost 6m and the Namoi at Gunnedah is still just under 8m.

Thanks for that post John. We were chatting to Garry W last Monday and he said virtually the same thing. The land looks pretty good out at Elong, compared to previous years. Don't think we have seen it so green in late November for quite a while.
Might even have to mow the grass next time we go out there

It will be interesting to see if the Talbragar rises a bit after all the rain up in the Liverpool Ranges.

Our heart goes out to the folks around Tamworth and Gunnedah.

    Cheers

Talbragar had a couple of feet in it this morning when I went down to pay my account first thing. Compared with just a trickle on Saturday.
