Thread: OK show us your shed!!!!

This is my solution to living in a gully with no flat ground.
Top level is general workshop 7.6x9m with a 7.6x3m varandah and 4x6m ramp.Top level also has a 4m 'pit' that is also used to lower gear and machinery to the lower level.
The lower level has a work area of 5.8x9m with a raised storage area of 1.8x9m and a 2x2.7m varandah.
All the flooring is blue gum T&G hardwood.
Under the lower level is a 20,000L water tank and a 3x3m dirt floor yard tool storage corner.
I have been at this for almost 4years and almost at council sign off (this Nov). Just a final push to get every thing finished.
Some of the pics are not up to date, but should give an idea of the build.

Me on the left. The others were my helpers to get the tank down the hill and under the shed before the lower level went in.
Not sure if I mentioned, but the whole build has been by hand, no machines, just sweat and hard work during weekends and holidays.

how will you stop water etc from coming through underneath and slowly undermining your water tank? will you try and go around the whole shed or put a gutter around the tank?

Water is an issue, but nor in lifting or moving the tank. More an issue of water washing mud down against the tank. I am planning on running some trenches with aggi line and gravel to divert the surface water away. I do have considerable water to deal with from the base of the rock wall in heavy rain and need to divert it. I suspect this is going to be a case of trial and error to work out the best method.

Finally, work starts on our shed at Maleny with the earthworks to get the site ready for the concrete on Monday.
The actual shed is already manufactured and stored with Ranbuild. The insulation is sitting on our front verandah.
It will be a double lockup garage plus workshop extension plus single carport.
First two existing timber carports illegally build by a previous owner had to be demolished. Used the Defender's winch to pull it down.
We also had to make sure the pipes for our new septic system were buried clear of the shed site.
Then we had to get approval from the neighbour to relax the 3 metre to boundary rule, and get the lot approved by Sunshine Coast Council.
Finally, it's all done and the shed may even be up for Christmas.
The excavator was very fast today. There is a fall on the site, so the corner closest to the house had to be dug and the opposite side filled, without affecting the septic tank and pipes.
Really looking forward to getting this done. The slab will go down while we're in Sydney next week.

Ensure you get stress joins CUT into the slab . With fill at one end and cut at the other the slab will crack. ( wonna see mine. ?)

Yes, it is good soil.
I will check about stress joints, good thought, thanks, but the concreter does a lot of these and seems very professional.
