Well just picked up a 2nd hand pump but before I pull the interior trim apart...

The illustration in RAVE shows the pump having 4 connections on the top...the one I have only has one coded green...

Have I got the right one???

    Cheers

Sounds awfully like a V8 one, the D2 V8 has no tank return so only 1 outlet...Tombie is on the money there.

    Thanks heaps guys! Much appreciated!

If I'd had my wits about me I'd have looked at that in rave to compare! And as you say the V8 is one outlet.

Guess I won't be doing that job then. F!@#$%^&*!!!!!!!

    Cheers

Well I've just fitted the new (2nd hand) fuel pump and followed the RAVE instructions for purging the system. The pump screamed as much as the one I took out - not happy or is this a by-product of purging the air from the rail/lines??? Car fired up fine but if it continues to scream I guess I am back to square one...

    Cheers

They buzz anyway, but scream when they still have air in them.

    Thanks Slunnie
Just went for a spin down the shops (not too far just in case, lol!) and no problem, the two subsequent starts have been quieter and a slightly different tone. There appears to be no howl during operation/running. Woohoo!
I might be daring and put the cargo area trim back together.
    Cheers

Mike, yes as you found out it will take some time for the air to purge out of it. Just out of interest, do you know how old/ how many K's the used pump has done?
