I got an email with a different response.......anyhoo yes I had missed the "punk" bit. I blame the now 7 Stella's and frustration waiting for SWMBO to bugger orf from watching some cable crap so I can watch Hell Boy The Golden Army...kettle is boiled ready to go so I can perhaps...ummm....errr...sober up a smidge ,

    Regards

My kingswood is more relyable than dad's 04 fairlane, brother's 89 fairlane and dad's 80 series tojo, it's so simple . Once my Series IIA is on the road she should fit somewhere inbetween i would say. Least relyable would have to be the VK commodore my brother had before the fairlane - was really fun to drive with the lumpy cam and 4 speed but gave us heaps of trouble.

The kingy has done around 398000kms and still drives like it's done 100000, lover her to bits

Go with something that is common and easy to get parts for, will cost you less in money and stress in the long run, especially if you are away from the big cities

Best new year wishes to all

    Hi,
I am sorry to sell the Disco and leave such good people who reside on this forum. As DJam1 points out the nearest dealer is 1,600 klms away in Perth and I do not have the time to work on it myself due to the hours I do a week.

In Karratha (all the NW of WA) it is not like the East where you will either find a LR Specialist or a LR dealer somewhere. You drive for many hours up here on the main highway without even seeing a roadhouse let alone find mechanical/eclectrical help when you drive a machine with 3 computers onboard and a host of other high tech items. You cannot even get help on them in the major towns.

The 2008 nissan patrol and Navarra D22 for all the hype are pretty dumb and docile still (but good looking) which is why I went that way.

I looked at Tojo's but after rebuilding my stepsons different models twice just about from the ground up, I could not bring myself to do it.

Any LR person on this site is welcome for a cold one at my place in Karratha on the way thorugh. I will be keeping a back ground profile on the site reading up on the interesting things people do with there LR's so just PM me.

I am certainly going to be missing MY 2003 TD5 Auto but that's life. I wonder if Tombie (x-tombraider) does ECU remaps for Nissan CRD'S?

Brad you have only shown what LR's problem is.There is no secret why LR's are common around Albany and no were North,if you can't walk into a dealer and look at one then you won't buy one. There is a market for LR's in Australia but they need to join a dealership chain as that is what buyers want.I very much hope that both vehicles work out for you as Nissan won't give you any support if something goes wrong. No backup in the bush from LRA so no more vehicles from them for this lot.
I know they recover you during warranty (I've experienced that) but what good is it if the things have to be shipped to Perth for fixing?
    Alan.
So you think Tojo mechanics will stock parts for the new LC 200?
Watch your oil consumption as they are burning out valves.

I know of one LC200 TD that is on its third engine
The owner,a mad Tojo follower wants to go back to a !00 series.

I also know of two V8 TD traybacks on a property in the gulf that have had the same parts of the steering systms replaced twice, possibly the steering racks.

They have also just bought another four traybacks for the property.
