Ha i once saw a flying pig.. people say they have been seeing big cats since the 1930.. Now all the big cats, African and South American or where ever have a life span in the wild of about 8 to 12 years.. that means there must have been lots of pairs out there breeding with out problems for near on 90 years. In 90 years the population would be rather large, being that they would be top of the food chain, but in all this time no one has proof that they exist at all or in the great numbers that they should have got to after 90 years as number one in the Aussie bush.. If one is ever found it will more than likely be an escapee from a private zoo. The real proof is finding a population of big cats not a single cat , because it takes a population of many to last 90 years of sightings.. Now i must be off to see if that rocking horse has had a sh-t yet

I remember in the desert, this one time. We'd been looking for a suitable campsite for sometime, but nothing decent was turning up.

From a dune the trees in the swale ahead were the most promising we had seen for some time. That would do us, they were about 2m tall - offering some protection and there should be firewood.

When we came to the trees, the largest was no more than 1m bush.

About 2 years ago, the family and I headed up a side road off the Huon Highway just off Grove straight, (Discopete will know where I mean) just for a look-see. We got to the end of the track and turned around then stopped the car and got out for a look at the view. Opposite us on the hillside about 100metres away was a ginormous feral black cat. It saw us, and just continued on its way up into the forrest completely unfussed, as if it new we weren't a threat. It was, from a distance, 4 to 5 ft tip to tail(A long tail at that), and stood about half a metre at the shoulder. Never have I seen a cat that size, and I've seen heaps of ferals both here and back in WA. It wasn't a Panther I believe, but it was top of the feral cat ladder in that part of the world I'd say.
