If something is sent snail mail do you then make sure it gets a reply or at least gets something done about it?
I tend to only deal in digital stuff. If it comes in the post box it just gets put in a big pile and often left unopened![]()
Something came up yesterday re an email I haven't yet read.
When I checked, I have over 6000 unread emails going back for years. Am I the only one who is slack. I also have 21 unread PMs on this forum alone - we won't talk about the the other fora I frequent, nor about my work mail box - although at work, I usually just delete the work-related emails without reading them.
If anyone is awaiting a reply from me, I may get around to it in the next few years. Maybe.
I'm afraid if I don't answer your email when I receive it, I probably won't ever get around to it.

Thats poor Ron. If somebody has gone to the effort to send it to you, then at least have the decency to read it.
Cheers

Probably. The numbers are overwhelming so it becomes too big a task to fix. I usually scan the header and the sender and try to answer some. I sometimes get a hundred emails (not including spam) in a day. I simply cannot deal with the volume. Time to change my email address again and to delete the old one.
Work emails are unimportant so can be deleted without being read.

Well, if we ever need to contact you we'll just write off topic in your "faulty goods" thread. You must visit that more then once a day.And you'll be sure to see it.
I don't read many threads on here (or any other forum). The header has to catch my eye.
The oldest unread email on this computer was received in Feb 2005.

Must be a blokey thing Ron.
Erich rarely reads emails unless I tell him it's there and he should reply.
Then, when he does reply, the answers are so short and to the point. No 'social' type chit-chat at all
He reckons it's his engineering background that makes him answer in such a direct manner. To me they sound so impersonal!
Must be my journalistic background - he reckons I rant and rave too much - he's probably right.
