That's possibly because some people are interested in the subject, some want to defend their position, some are appalled that LR drivers are wasting their time on such a subject but can't help looking (a bit like a car crash).
Some might have realised that the thread is not just a gripe about spelling and are amused by other comments that have been made.

Some people are probably trying to make a helpful comment, like JDNSW's comment that if you want people to read your posts, it helps if you make an effort (or words to that effect).

Anyway there are more people reading this post than any other. That must mean something.
