    Who cares

I am not the best speller in the world. Some of my mates are terrible, but i still love them. My wife is ok, I still love her. I don't judge people on how good they are at spelling. Surely there are more important things to worry about.

My grammar was lovely. She cooked me biscuits and laughed at my jokes, God bless her.

No rules inside a country or between the English speaking countries
That would be because that the folks in Talangattá are the custodians of an original name for the town, so have a historical link to it's correct usage.

The people in Coolangatta (and I'm making an assumption about which one here) have a double disability, they are Queenslanders and they have a second hand name for the place, which was named after a ship, that was named after a village, that was named after a mountain many hundreds of miles away from Tweed Heads.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Look at the big picture. Are people lazy, stupid or they just don't care?

Annals (Latin Annales, from annus, a year) are a concise form of historical writing which record events chronologically, year by year.

I generally avoid these posts as they can get emotive.
However I do have an opinion regarding this.
I try to spell correctly because it's the right thing to do! I am not talking about correctly spelled words being mistyped because of rushed typing/inattention/fat fingers etc, as this happens and almost always the meaning of the word and contxt of the sentence is still very clear. (here's an example I haven't bothered to correct as contxt still conveys the message.)
I get more annoyed at people who make words up as this tends to leave me to interpret what I think they mean, rather than them concisely telling me in written form what it is they want me to get from the text!
In most cases I can interpret made up words (yes, thort is a made up word) but some times it is hard to nail the context.

I remember a funny incident that happened when my wife and I first married, she wrote me a note reminding me to get some butter from the supermarket on my way home. We had always used margarine so I thought, no worries, she wants butter so I purchased butter. She then informed at home that she couldn't remember how to spell margarine so wrote butter instead safe in the knowledge that I would know what she meant!

Point is, she may as well have written 'shizzledinkle' as I had to interpret what she wanted instead of the text being clear.

    Just my 10c

    4x4 action is shocking.

The only ones that really annoy me are 'looser' and 'splet'. I love the irony when people say "You spelt that wrong".

Personally I think grammar on here is more important than the occaional spelling error. You can usually read through a few spelling errors, but reading a 2 paragraph post which is one sentance is hard.
