    Your statement is lame.
    It's not at all lame.

A previous comment had been made that some people have a low level or standard of education and it may be why they can't spell. I dispute that - education level has nothing to do with it. Universities don't teach people to spell. I've been there and some of the worst spellers I know have uni degrees. And their going to uni has in no way made them dumb! Not sure how you read that into my comment to be honest.

My dad on the other hand is a mechanic and spells better than most people I know.

I think the issue is around the education system. From what I remember, spelling and grammar aren't taught at all after primary school.

heres one way of looking at it (its my point of view so its got to be at least one way of looking at it).

I have a finite number of brain cells and I can dedicate them to learning only so much......

I was too busy learning about fun stuff like mechanics, science (wow, that goes bang well), maths, industrial arts, outdoor education (wow she bangs well), home economics to give a rats snot about english, social studies, artns n crafts or anything that wasnt teaching me something important to actually getting things done.

Put it to ya this way....

would you rather have a mechanic who fixed the car charged you for the fix but had a spelling/typographical/gramatical error on the bill

    OR

would you rather have the mechanic who had a master piece of scriptural literature for a bill and charged you for something he couldnt fix?

For spelling call Rogets, for mechanicing call me.

No because then that count would over take my thanks count very very quickly
