    I cut the bottom out off the drivers side under seat box,$15 for a sheetmetal floor that was 3'' lower and fitted a 800cca gel battery. Pat

    Somthing to consider, the alternator in a defender is quite low output and it can take a considerable drive to recharge deep cycle batteries.

    I recommend a good battery charger as well to charge up fully before you leave.
