As Craig says its really going to hit hard, lots of smaller companies and their workers will suffer.
All you can hope Steve is you find something, even if its different just to keep the wolves from the door till the worlds mess is sorted.
Last few jobs we have advertised we havent got any applicants. We have had a heap of resumes sent in the last few weeks asking for work, and we have no positions advertised or available at the moment.

Sorry to hear that steve but even in my industrie (laser cutting) we only have enough work for 1 day and it looks like I will have to start cutting jobs.

I hate being the boss sometimes

You will never regret it. I left as soon as I thought I could afford to. I retired the day after I signed the cheque for the last lot of school fees for my youngest.

My advice to all. Retire as young as possible. You don't know what is ahead of you health-wise. I have seen too many friends and colleagues die or suffer ill-health before retiring or soon after retiring too late when they could have left years before and had some life.

If I'd retired a year ago when I turned 60, I'd have more money in my super than now - it would have had a fair bit more converted to cash.

Mate we live only once and we do not have control for how long we are going to be here.
If you can survive on retirement, enjoy life to the maximun. I am 63 and many friends of my era did not make it or have a rotten health.

Looks like instead of going back to work then i should take everyones advice and retire young.. is 33 young enough? i should get a few years to enjoy myself then

doesnt matter i guess when you retire or what you do ... as long as you enjoy it! oh and get chance to enjoy it too

    Thanks

    Sorry to hear guys.
I have at least a year before I have to contemplate worrying.
By then my project will probably be extended due to what the replacement will cost.
