Unhappy Nothin' to do with working LRs, but..........

Could not but help notice the Bultaco avatar for Mrapocalypse.

    What model(s) do you have/had?

I once had an Alpina 350 on the farm bought new from Wally Lunn in Launceston.

The `Land Rover of motor bikes' - couldn't kill it with work, climbed anything with minimum throttle, forsook technological advancement as a mere passing fad, and I would have `rather pushed it than ride Jap cr*p as the old saying goes'.

    Sound familiar?

    Cheers,

I have a 1976 Sherpa T250. It's a wreck, but I love it. Like you say it's the Landy Of motorbikes.

Sherpas are a great bike too! Came close to acquiring one back around 1976 myself.

Still pining for my Alpina a good bit (excuse the pun) - moreso even than for my original Series 1 88", but along with the dive gear, tinnie and 10HP outboard etc it was the price I had to pay the child bride (then) to get any sort of hearing on a new car which we needed at the time!

The 350s were a bit scarcer than the 250s and went like the powers of p***, at least until you hit top gear. Only had 3000 genuine km on the speedo and the original Spanish Pirellis in A1 nick when it disappeared out the gate in 93. I have never seen it since, but I believe that the guy who bought it is still trawling it around the bike shows without having done anything to it other than wave a bit of polish here and there.

    Enjoy yours anyway,
