Can anyone recommend any reputable moving vans/trucks from Sydney to Melbourne? And roughly (no, I won't hold it to you) the cost involved? I'm initially going over for a few days to suss out properties, but obviously, when I do move, my Series III will be coming with me.
All input greatfully received.
Thanks.

Which part of the state are you looking at ??
Bringing a car over i've found cheapest to drive so far, i've not found a cheaper alternative (I've looked at bringing cars over a few tiems).

I dont think its that expensive, but maybe a phone call to the Spirit of Tasmania booking office would be a good start panda. I was thinking of doing a trip to tassie at the begining of the year and ended up doing other things, but it was only a couple of hundred bucks to take the car over with you, and you can either sleep in a cabin, or sit in the seats which is cheaper.
As for a removalist maybe ring Dawsons removals and such to get an idea on price.
How much stuff have you got to shift?

A mate who moved down found the easiest way was to pack a shipping container himself and get that shipped.
However he moved to flinders, not mainland tas.
My daughter and son in law used a 40 foot shipping container both ways. On the way back they managed to squeeze 6 Minis into the container as well! Definitely the cheapest way to go.

Thanks NM. I'm going tomorrow to suss it out. Don't know if I'll end up staying, just looking at all the options. Used to live there many years ago, & loved it. There are some really good people in Tassie, plus I'll initially be staying with my cousins, who are avid horse riders & a lot of fun, & I could do with a few laughs!![]()
