Go to a car yard and you'll get lots of head shaking and offers to take it off your hands as a favour for very little cash, and they'll stick a heap on it and sell it virtually immediately!
I sold mine in 3 weeks with lots of inquiries for 38K.
I'm now selling my 97 300 Tdi with 150K, very good internally, electrically and mechanically (body is average Deafener but no serious damage) for 18K and I won't sell it for much less, in fact for stupid offers the price goes UP.:)
It would be nice to be able to buy cheap ones but as there aren't many around, I think you're going to wait a long time or get very lucky.
