Davis Performance Landys at Annangrove
My workplace is moved and I'm looking for advice where to get decent Land Rover service not too far from North Ryde, on Sydney's northern side. Specifically, a place where they know more than squat about turbo diesel engines (TD4). There is always Alto at Artarmon but I had not too good experience lately with dealer service (elsewhere) so I was looking for possible alternatives.
I did some search but found no clear leads. There was an earlier suggestion on this very forum but later people went a bit lukewarm on them.
I don't intend to start a whinge session about dealer service or otherwise, just seeking to get a few quick pointers to follow up on, if possible.
Thanks in advance!

you could try ATV in Strathfield...don't know if that is too far for you...we have been using them for years good bunch of blokes...and as soon as the Puma is out of warranty that is where it will be going for the stuff we cant do ourselves![]()
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Excellent! Thanks, heaps.![]()

That can make a big difference if something happens outside warranty.
I cringe when I see all these repairers advertise that servicing outside the dealer network doesn't affect your warranty. Sure, it doesn't affect the car while it's under warranty but it affects any goodwill coverage the manufacturer might provide outside warranty.
I know that dealers aren't perfect & everybody has their own opinion so the choice of servicing is up to the owner. It's just that most don't realise that it can (and does) affect LR assistance if something fails just outside warranty.

Point taken Scott, but MR and Austral have a rather good understanding it would seem. Whenever a service is performed on our Defender, MR will point out if anything requires work under warranty and there is never an issue with Austral when the vehicle is taken to them for this work to be carried out.
Whether, as you say, this continues to be the case once the warranty has expired, (June 2009) remains to be seen.

I'm sure the other suggested places are good too, but I went to ATV because they are easy to get to, from where I am.
It was repair and service and I was impressed with them, so I will be going back. They kept me informed, explained everything without having to quiz them, they did what they had to and didn't do what wasn't necessary. And, of course, my small Landie is happy again. It's good to see that there are still people who know what they are doing and take pride in their work.
So thanks again, for the recommendation. Rise, Sir dullbird!![]()
