oooo... i must have got it wrong. i thought there were several places inthe uk doing it.
There are. There used to be more. There was a good one at Bluewater shopping centre in north west kent near the M25 but they closed that to make way for a bus route![]()
You might even find that one of the Eastnor instructors lurks on this forum...

If you want the driving, Eastnor is the place to go...If you want to have a factory tour type thing then you want to go to HoTL (Home of the Legend) at the factory.
I know there are some guys here who have been so I'm sure they'll be along shortly to give you an un-biased view.

it's a pretty tight schedule so i don't think we've got much time to spend sight seeing. we're going to Blackpool and Leicester and i noticed one in Leicester so i'd probably be going to that one.
The next question is, what are they like? i've done a bit of driving off road but don't really have any good theory as to why you'd chose the line...especially in deep mud!!! always getting bogged. but also good to see what my new D3 is capable of.
My father has done it and loved it, seems like a great experience if you're new to 4WD. He says:
The half-day free ones are obviously a sales pitch. In the three hours they chat about the vehicle, then go for a road run on varied types of roads (byways and highways), then back to the offroad area, which is no more than an hour, but they put the vehicle through its paces to show all the different functions (HDC, traction control, anti-stall, etc). The instructor does no driving, so you are driving the vehicle the whole time – on and off road.
If you are offered this by the dealer or by LR for free then it’s worth it – mine have all been free (!!). However, if I were paying then I’d pay the extra for a half day (or even a full day) that is wholly off-road. There is less of a sales pitch with these, I think. Be warned that the off-road sites can be very different – some may not have any water crossings, for instance, others having no rocks. Most do, however, have a series of sculpted humps to show off traction control and articulation (see photos) – one even has a large mirror alongside so you can see what is happening as you drive over them.
