I have used iPrimus now for 6 years, both ADSL and phone, really no complaints. When I did have the odd issue, very helpful, excellent tech support, would highly recommend!

When it comes to technology, my wife is about as conservative as they come. If I change the colour scheme or the wallpaper on the computer, she demands to know how she can possibly do what she needs to do because "everything is completely different."

In spite of that she very quickly adapted to a setup that involves:

    • All incoming calls received on our cordless attached to the landline.
    • Local calls can be made on the cordless because our plan gives us 50 free local calls/month.
    • All national and international calls made via VOIP on our old phone connected through a VOIP telephone adapter so the computer doesn't need to be on.

We are with Southerphone, one of the regional providers. We use Mynetfone for VOIP. We have never had any sort of problem in the couple of years we have been connected.

I am not quite game enough to ditch the landline, so we still pay rental and for broadband. Our actual phone bill with Mynetfone is usually a bit over $3. In fact I'm still using up the credit I got when I bouth a couple of pieces of equipment a couple of years ago.

So the short answer is, I'm with SouthernPhone and quite happy.

I am using Skymesh, not very happy with it, although I have not been able to establish whether the problem is Skymesh, generic to Ipsat, or generic to satellite links. In view of comments on Whirlpool, I would not even attempt to use VOIP with a satellite link.

ohhhh noooo............ this is not the case.

I use telstra because the are the only real broadband service in my area. It has constant drop outs and they have just decided not to believe me and help becase the tech has been sent out many times with no sign of an issue.

As soon as I can change I will because if I am going to get such crap service I may as well be paying less anyway.

That was the case why I droped Telstra and went to Gotalk.
I have couple of interruptions this month and I got upset about it. For this reason I wonder how many members have problems with other providers and of they are happy with them.

I am with Telstra Cable. No real issues with them.

Price is right = $0.00 (part of my salary package). Still have the landline & refuse to use VoIP for 2 reasons.

    1) the price of the landline is right = $0.00 (also part of the package)
    2) If the power goes out, I still have a phone. (discussions regarding using a mobile are reserved for another thread)

So, in short, Telstra all the way. I have had a few minor issues with their Tech support people, but cause I can talk the Telstra Talk, generally problems are sorted quickly.

In the past, I did use Optusnet, and had no major issues with them either.

Been with Telstra cable since One-Tel went Belly up in 2000? In that time I would say down time maybe 30 hours, and most of that when some enterprising mob tore the cables down .

I was about to say my Optus cable was pretty good.
Murphy's Law - it dropped out

    Usually pretty good though.
