When it comes to technology, my wife is about as conservative as they come. If I change the colour scheme or the wallpaper on the computer, she demands to know how she can possibly do what she needs to do because "everything is completely different."
In spite of that she very quickly adapted to a setup that involves:
- All incoming calls received on our cordless attached to the landline.
- Local calls can be made on the cordless because our plan gives us 50 free local calls/month.
- All national and international calls made via VOIP on our old phone connected through a VOIP telephone adapter so the computer doesn't need to be on.
We are with Southerphone, one of the regional providers. We use Mynetfone for VOIP. We have never had any sort of problem in the couple of years we have been connected.
I am not quite game enough to ditch the landline, so we still pay rental and for broadband. Our actual phone bill with Mynetfone is usually a bit over $3. In fact I'm still using up the credit I got when I bouth a couple of pieces of equipment a couple of years ago.
So the short answer is, I'm with SouthernPhone and quite happy.
