    Harrowing Few Weeks

We have had a very sad few weeks for our normally happy family.

Erich's mum, who is 83 and was VERY active - travelling to all sorts of places (NZ, Canada, Alaska, China etc) suffered a really bad stroke late January and hasn't come out of it very well at all.

She spent 4 weeks in hospital and is now back home, spending time with us, or Erich's sister, who lives nextdoor, but it's really frustrating for her, as she knows what she could do before the stroke, and she can't do now. We are doing our very best to keep her spirits up.

My mum had a stroke a few years ago and it affected her mobility - not her "fine motor skills" (eg. knitting etc), but Erich's mum has had her skills taken away, and she was the most amazing knitter - had her exhibits at the Sydney Royal Easter Show - Now not sure if she will regain the skill...she's trying though, and I guess that's a good thing.

So, if we're quiet on the Forum, that's why.

It's so sad to see our loved family members suffer.

Life is tough sometimes Mrs B...

Hope things improve... you are right the fact she is at least trying is a positive first step.

Best wishes to all the Bundalene clan...

Best wishes with this to both yourself and Erich, and especially Erichs mum. Its sounds like you're all in for the long haul and strength to you during this time.
    Cheers

All the best. Something similar happened to a grandmother I had never met recently - I can't imagine the difficulty of seeing it first hand.

    I hope things improve...

Thanks to you all for your thoughts & good wishes.

She has a great extended family, standing by her and giving all the support we can manage. Hopefully she'll pull through

All the best to Erich's mum and to you, Sheila, Erich, and Andrew (I don't know if there are any others in your immediate family - if so, best wishes to them, too).

It must be stressful for all of you.
