In the first clip a lot of the figures are different to the others you read such as approach and departure are 43 in the clip but 45 on all other notes.

You don't see many of them over here outside the army but I for one am impressed by what I saw in the clips.

Of course the Pinny in the earlier pictures is that of a very famous (infamous?) member of LROCV

I have seen it in action at Licola for the 40th anniversary in 2003 - very impressive indeed and a lovely vehicle.

    Here's his website Pinzgauer Haflinger

Also, have a look at the top two clips here. This was a fast flowing Macalister river and didn't phase the Pinny. Compare it with the 110 crossing .........yikes!

No they aren't Unimog diff's, they don't run a solid axles either, they have inderpendant suspension coming of a center member. and they have cross axle diff locks as well.

I recall seeing one on Carpoint in the last year or so - I think it was a 4x4 but my memory is a bit rusty. (It was in the Hummer section - due no Pinny section.) I think he wanted $50,000.

Geez I really am geussing because they are so scarce here - you can find them on OS websites in the $10K to $20K US, but by the time you got it on the road here I reckon you'd be crackin' to have change out of 50 grand. Maybe more!

You can pick up a 6x6 for around the 30K and a 4x4 slightly cheaper but they are a lot rarer! and that price will get you one in good condition!

OK that sounds about right. The govt here paid (I think) around $165k each for theirs plus 10 years worth of spares (for the army - that is what they replaced the Landies with). They bought 330.

Give it another 15 years and maybe they'll start appearing on the auction circuit
