    NO CDL IN,,, how stuped can you get

    well to keep it short i went out 4wding last nite with a mate an a jeep club, an went in to a prity big mud hole,, an i have been thro it before so i went first,, enyway i droped the front wheels in a jave it to her, an fell in an came to a big stop,,

    then sum words later i looked at a way to get it out an clibing in an out of the windows since it was laping the doors, an coming in!! all the people watching were like OMG there is no way im going in there now!!,

    sum time later we worked out it couldent be winched back an i had taken my wintch off the front,,

    LOTS of swering later it hit me that IT WASENT IN DIFF LOCK!!!!,, got bak in the window, put it in diff lock an drove out very easly with sum boot,,

    so what big stuff up have you done like mine,,, DONT FOR GET CDL!!!!

    Could have been worse.
    LROCV ran a trip a few years back when a Disco climbing a steep hill transferred all the drive to the front (due to all the weight on the back wheels) and it lost traction, swung around rolling the vehicle over & over.
    Same cause.

    Don't get this problem in a series rover, just pull the red handle back and away you go (if you upgraded to free wheel hubs you would have already locked them... )

    my old lada niva, was a good little s-box. one time climbing a steep hill full noise bounced over a rock, the centre difflock came out and all the drive went to the front diff, when the front wheel came back down the wheel bit and blew the front diff to little bitty peices. disconeected front shaft and difflock back in and limped home in rear drive with front diff grinding itself into smaller and smaller peices. slipped off into a rut on way back to road, and cos it was only rear drive then, had to get pulled out. all in all an embarressing and expensive weekend

    Mate has forgotten the CDL twice in my rig. First one people watching him fail to get it through the bumpy bit walked up and told him why he was not going anywhere. Second time was on a night run and we began to slide sideways down a rock. I noticed he hadn't engaged it and locked it in while he started to panick and stood on the load pedle. Guid at the top of the rock section wet himself as the 130 suddenly started to scream and left 4 rubber trails all the way up the rock!
