Welder Needed Brisbane Northside - Recommendations?

    Hi All,

Soon I'll need to do some welding on the rear of my 110 County chassis. I'll probably buy a complete replacement rear crossmember for one thing. Some work needs to be done on the top side of the chassis, so I think I'll take the opportunity to remove the whole body and replace it with a better one. The other body needs some relatively minor but fiddly welding repairs to make it perfect (as in completely rust free).

I can't weld and don't have the equipment anyway. As much as I'd like to learn, the reality is that it's not going to happen. So I'm looking for any recommendations for a competent welder on Brisbane northside. I'd prefer someone who's work is known and trusted.

My spare front diff casing is with Brook at Custom 4x4 for strengthening, but that is miles away and he is so busy he expects the work to take 2 - 3 months. I'd like to do as much of the grunt work and spannering myself to keep costs down, so the closer the better. I'm in Arana Hills.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Dave.

Thanks mate! Our club president (Brisbane club) said I should ask you if you knew anyone at the meeting last Monday, but I thought it would be best to go with the general broadcast

The rear crossmember outriggers on mine are shot - not sure about the centre section but I'll drop the tank and have a good look. A couple of brackets an top at the rear are holed, as is some steel near them. I want to modify them slightly anyway to run the loom through. It caught fire inside the chassis and I've replaced it with one running along the top. It also needs work on stuff like bump stop brackets.

I can make up all the pieces, or at least the majority. I just can't stick them on. I won't be able to do anything for a little while, but the sooner the better as I have a list of things to do on the car that just keeps getting longer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
