Like pretty well all recent elections at all levels, it was a matter of which poor choice to vote for. Queenslanders appear to have longer memories than the pollies realise. The "Country Crooks" under their new name of Liberal National Party were sent back to the waiting room. The electors remembered the LNP has a species memory of nepotism, cronyism, graft and corruption, with the ghosts of Bjelke-Petersen, Hinze, Holm, Sparkes, Genrich, Goleby, Lane, Austin, the Thiesses etc. casting their shadow over the party. The public perception of their principal sponsor as a billionaire attempting to buy himself a government didn't help.

    Still,
    the electorate has spoken
as you say, so we have to be happy now with the state of affairs.

To form any government, you only need 51% of the vote in 51% of the seats. A total of 26.01% of the vote.

A woman as premier. Next women will want to drive Land Rovers, and have the right to vote.

Depends on the number of voters in each electorate, Joh did it with 16%.

well, to my disgust, labour is back in

actually, to my disgust, we still have an elected government in Qld

the same pack of whinging, whining, incompetent cretins who so royally f*****d Qld Health, local government, Queensland Rail, Education Queensland and too many other things to bother mentioning

    my local options were:

    LNP: 'nuff said
Labor: a burnt out pollie who shouldve taken up something else years ago, god knows he doesnt do **** for the locals in politics
Greens: some ditzy tramp from the gold coast who wouldnt have the faintest idea where her electorate was......

i turned in a blank form....

and Brian, Bjelke-Petersen mightve run a corrupt ship, but at least things got done!
