Crusher (or cracker) dust mixed with concrete and rolled, damp, over a road base foundation makes a good driveway.

There a couple of quarries down your way who can mix in the cement powder (3-4%) at the quarry as well as the right amount of moisture using a pugmill. You'd need a bobcat and a small roller waiting for the delivery as the working time would be 1-2 hours from mixing. Your $900 would probably cover a 6m load, a couple of hours of bobcat hire to spread and level it and a small drum roller from Coates for half a day which you can operate yourself.

FYI, grass will grow very well in crusher dust, particularly species like couch and kikuyu which send out runners - its surprising how many mineral nutrients there are in rock dust. It makes a better base for turf than topsoil as its sterile and weed-free. It can be put down extremely flat by a good bobcat operator using a levelling bar.

We have gravel...it is also a weed trap
Compact the drive sufficiently with a vibrating roller and the weed cannot get a hold.
