OK the order is being placed, this is what I have ordered, he is coming back with a total price, I did not order the full kit for the chequer plate just the wing tops, this was for cost and advice that it may not be benefitioal to have it along the bottom an on the corners, I think I will probably get the steel rear corners when I get the bullbar.

Unfortunatley delivery wont be until the second week of November, seemingly there are no 7 seat black ones in town. Oh well my Birthday in Decmber so a great Birthday present.

    Santorini Black 110
    third row seats
    Tow Bar
    Heavy Duty Front springs
    Chequer Plate Wing Tops (Black)
Side Protection rails (Black if possible)
    Snorkel

Only other thought for what to add for Fraser would be recovery towing points.

    1) So you can pull other's out.
    2) So you can be pulled out should you get stuck due to inexperience (not due to the car).

Hmm....not sure how one can be miss sold a lease or as to what the pro's and con's are unless the person has never had finance before. Also I would tend to disagree that a bank loan would have been cheaper...assuming you are talking a personal loan.

Quite simply the pro's of a lease is that you can build a residual into the deal...ideally ensuring that the residual is low so the debt is going to ideally be less than what the car will be worth at the designated term. There really isn't a con per se bar the fact that with any finance agreement...if you go to pay it out early into the contract...you are going to get stung...thats a given. Reason being is that you are only paying interest....no principal until you are well into the contract.

The funder has designated a stream of income from that lease over a set period, so if you payout early you will need to repay principal plus a proportion on the interest that would have been incurred. This would be no different to a bank loan. Only the structure is different as general funding for consumers for vehicles are Personal Loans bar one or 2 funders I use ( Im a finance broker) where residuals can be built into the deal for a consumer loan.

If anyone wants further information...especially from a business perspective the differences between Leases/Chattel and CHP, let me know and I can email you a fact sheet on them all,

    Regards

    remember insurance

Anything that is fitted by the dealer when you buy the car new is covered under your insurance.

If anything happens a few years down the track, all the accessories you fitted after you bought it will not be covered for replacement.

You have 3 months to add genuine accessories and still be covered under new car warranty - so shop around so you know what you really want on your truck.

    • Doors and body panels that seal from daylight, even better if they would exclude water and dust.

Or is that too much to ask?

Also anything that is fitted by the dealer that is a genuine landrover product as long as it is done in the fist can't remember if its 6months or 600k's means all the accessories are also covered by your 3 year warranty...I.e your accessories have the 3year warranty rather than the 12month factory warranty

    ordered

Hi all, thanks for all your advice, I am now awaiting a delivery date, can't wait..

In the end I only ordered the tow bar as I want to start towing straight away, going to buy a small tinny and need something to mover a trailer to the tip, nothing strenuous.

All the other options from LR were extreme, they wanted 1800 for the snorkel and 1200 just for the wing tops, everything else came in at around 2k an option. I figured I would just get the car and then shop around once I have figured out what I want, I may even go back to LR for an option within the 3 months as suggested if I feel it is worth while, but I just cant see how they can justify the prices they charge.

Anyway once it comes I will get some pics up. cheers.

    Patrick
