Damn! I had many 504's and I recon that would rock with a 4.4
My bros one was still running strong with over 750k on the clock.
Love the 504's even more than the newer ones.
Whats so fun about it?
I can appreicate that if you do a burn out it means you got a powerful engine but if you have 3 different cars one having more power than the other they can all still do burn outs so what does it prove? you wouldn't know by looking at the burn out which one had more power.
Still i suppose it keeps the tyre and fuel man in business
Hey Tim
Back in my pug days I contemplated this....but I ended up putting in a V6 from a 604. I did see a rover v8 in a 504 in Brisbane and the main problem was the rear diff kept tearing out of it's mounts.
In addition, I think from memory they mated the rover v8 to a toyota gearbox...from a Supra or similar.
My old 504 took a beating...even did the plenty highway from Mount Isa to Alice Springs once.
I really miss the old 504's....my folks still have one...a 1972 in mint condition that has only done 54,000 miles!!!
Cheers
Andrew
