I must say cheers for brining this topic up! I am looking very closely at buying a fridge in the not to distant future. Was almost going to buy a WAECO. Then I slapped myself out of it. Engel would have to be one of the few choices as far as I am concerned. If you are going to go bush and offroad with a fridge. I am tossing and turning between the 60L or 80L combo Engels or going to whole hog and purchasing an Explorer.

What was the damage on the explorer if you dont mind me asking? DC70?
I've had a 40 litre Engel for about 10 years with no complaints and efficient performance all along (if you also buy the transit bag). I bought it because it also ran on 240v for no extra cost. In my opinion though it's the Landcruiser of fridges and the Explorer is the Landrover.
